Edit of images

After the photoshoot, i started to play around with the editing of the images.
I enjoy retouching and i found this particular image of sarah quite challenging as i wasnt sure what direction to go in with it, i could go all out and cut and stick on backgrounds or make it more of a beauty image as it shows off the makeup and hair so well.

This is the original image:

I removed all the of the hair from her forehead, i think the flyaways made the hair look nice but it looked a little too messy in parts, i smoothed the skin and added new light and shadow to her cheek bones, i added makeup in photoshop to make the lipstick and eyeliner look darker and more defined. I added more structure to her eyebrows as i always think sharp eyebrows give off a vibe of power and authority.
I lightened and darkened parts of the jumper and hair to give it more of a contrasted feel.
I wanted the image to appear dramatic so i added a cool blue filter which i toned down to give the image the look of ''popping'' out from the background.
I didnt do anything to the backgound as i felt the white really made Sarah stand out.

Im fairly happy with how this turned out, i was initially going for a more beauty style edit but i started making it mroe dramatic and almost gothic looking which i felt added even more drama to what was already a strong image.

Sarah as a model has been really fun to retouch her angular face allows for alot of play with lighting and shadow to add more drama and emotion, alongside this darkening her features overall makes her look more powerful and even slightly eerie and intimidating - im sure a must have for any royal.
